The issue lists pages that get a mix of both follow and nofollow incoming links.
What triggered the issue?
Ranklogs bots found page(s) that receives at least one internal link with the rel= “nofollow” attribute and at least one dofollow link.
Why is it important to fix conflicting link relation?
The rel= “nofollow” attribute is used to inform search engine crawlers not to follow the destination link.
Generally, nofollowed links are used to link pages that you do not want to be crawled or indexed by search engines. Also, they do not pass any link juice to other pages.
It is an obvious mistake to have both nofollow and dofollow links pointing to the same page. Either the page must be crawled and indexed, or it must not be.
The presence of both types of incoming links can cause crawling errors.
How to fix the issue?
Click ‘View Page Code’ to open the source code of the page. Search for rel=” nofollow” links to edit accordingly.
Please note that links without any ‘rel’ attribute are dofollow by default.
